Emma Schmiedings

The works of Emma Schmieding are installation. She uses a wide variety of materials. Usually found or given as a gift, individual objects are connected to each other and thus develop into independent works that interact with each other and become a large whole. Humor is Emma Schmieding's main means of creating a good atmosphere in her installations. But her work also acquires a form of lightness through bright colours, the recognizability of the objects and the targeted use of light.

In her installations there are often figures of animals who become actors and make everything look like a theater. They are performers of sociological dynamics, symbols of human nature. The viewer's curiosity is aroused - he becomes an explorer and explorer himself. Emma Schmieding was born in Paderborn in 1995. She has been studying at the Düsseldorf Art Academy since 2015. She has been a master's student of Didier Vermeiren since 2019 and has been studying with Prof. Conrad Dedice. She lives and works in Düsseldorf.
